The Christmas season arrives and with it the gatherings of family and friends. More so for Christmas Eve, New Year and the days that surround them, preparing the menu in advance, as well as cooking it, is one of the most expensive and time-consuming tasks. All in order to have a perfect lunch or dinner, for which Mercadona has wanted in question with up to five prepared dishes worthy of the best delicacy.
On December 24, 25 and 31 and January 1, tables throughout Spain dress up to host the most glamorous and prepared menus from each house. The perfect occasion to gather the whole family where there is no lack of seafood, good meat or that traditional dish of each home that cannot be missing in a great celebration.
However, it is in its cooking where the most complications arise, since from the moment it is thought of each year until it is served at the table, there is a long process behind it that requires a lot of effort on the stove. For this reason, the demand for quality prepared dishes has increased, in a business where Mercadona has also wanted to present itself.
With the fact that they leave a perfect menu and to the taste of almost everyone, the Valencian chain wants to promote its ‘Ready to eat’ dishes in 2021 so that it continues to be one of the sections that grows the most annually. For this reason, its latest catalog is now available to order, collect and heat with which to impress all diners.
This is how the Mercadona canapés are for Christmas
Starting with a category starter, Mercadona has 18 canapés (two of each flavour) with which to liven up the main dishes that will follow. From salmon and dill to cheese and figs, the other seven canapés are Stilton cheese and crispy mango, Russian salad, sobrassada and honey, truffle with cured meat, cured cheese, quince and nines, roast beef and foie gras waffle, caramelized apple and spun egg . One of the kings of these festivities, arrives already prepared and so you only have to heat it to 200 degrees in the oven without grill for 25 minutes. It is accompanied with baked potatoes and candied onions to come out at 55 euros for half a unit (for 3/4 people).
This is Mercadona’s milk-fed lamb shoulder for Christmas
Another of the great protagonists of Christmas, the pork gives way to lamb in this case with a mild flavor and crispy golden skin. Marinated with salt, rosemary, thyme and lemon and accompanied by baked potatoes and candied onions, to serve it is enough to place it in the oven for 25 minutes at 200 degrees without grilling. We now move on to a boneless chicken stuffed with shallots, truffle, foie gras, plums, spices, brandy and fresh bacon. Also with baked potatoes and candied onions as a garnish, its preparation consists of filleting the chicken and putting it in the oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees without grilling. How do you order Mercadona’s Christmas dishes?
In a clear section on its website, Mercadona explains that from November 22 to December 21 (Christmas Eve) and December 28 (New Year’s Eve) you can order your dishes that will arrive before December 24 and 31 ready to pick up. In addition, this withdrawal of the product can be done from December 3 and can be stored at home without any problem that affects its consumption.
Regarding the request, the chain has enabled the ‘Ready to eat’ service. In the same place where it is ordered, the collection will take place, once Mercadona informs the customer that the product is ready.
