the french Mirakl announced that in 2021 it obtained recurring annual income of more than 100 million dollars (87 million euros). In total, all the businesses promoted by this business marketplace SaaS platform transacted more than 4,300 million dollars (around 3,770 million euros).

The marketplace format has seen tremendous growth in recent years, resulting in customers now trusting to shop online. This has motivated the main companies in the world to rely on Mirakl for the construction and start-up of their online marketplaces. In 2021, 80 new clients have joined the platform, including numerous companies from the Global 2000 list (Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, CMA CGM, Decathlon, UNFI, etc.)and 66 new marketplaces have been created.

“2021 showed that there is no way to stop the growth of the marketplace industry”, affirmed the co-founder and CEO of Mirakl, Philippe Corrot. “Going into 2022, there is no doubt that marketplaces will play an integral role in every company’s e-commerce strategy. Marketplaces will soon provide a 360-degree solution, and we see Mirakl at the center of that offering.”

A cloud-based sales solution

The startup Mirakl was founded in in 2012 and offers a comprehensive solution for organizations in the B2B and B2C industry can create and manage their marketplace in the cloud. Since its inception, the company has supported more than 300 clients around the world to transform their business models. Among them, names such as El Corte Inglés, Leroy Merlin, Maisons du Monde, Metro, , Sprinter or Tiendanimal.

In 2021, the platform included a series of improvements in its services focused on speed, scalability, security and ease of management from a single platform. These include: the application Mirakl Shopify, which helps sellers connect Shopify stores with Mirakl-powered marketplaces, enabling streamlined order management; the ecosystem Mirakl Connect, which greatly speeds up time to market; the launch of a series of unified dropship and marketplace operations; and the AI categorization.
