This is the new curfew in Madrid: what can be done in the Community from this Thursday

The Community of Madrid before the coronavirus. With special attention to the hotel industry, which President Isabel Díaz Ayuso has always defended against the closures of other territories, the curfew will again be delayed until 11:00 p.m. so that the restaurant can offer dinner service.

It was already planned since the regional government last week in the face of the increase in coronavirus infections, but with the progressive drop that the capital is experiencing this Thursday, February 18, a curfew is once again established between 11:00 p.m. 6:00.

The great measure that comes into force throughout Spain and considerably changes the atmosphere of the evening in Madrid, since citizens will no longer be at home at 9:00 p.m. with the offense that it implied for the hotel industry. This is how Ayuso has defended it and has recalled it again this Thursday, celebrating that “the people of Madrid can recover their lives” because there will be greater permissibility when it comes to meeting.

When do the bars and restaurants close?

Greater in time, than in space, since the limit of six people outdoors and four indoors will remain in force. Thus, the bars and restaurants of the capital will be able to close their doors at 11:00 p.m., coinciding with the curfew, although they will not admit new clients beyond 10:00 p.m.

In addition, the home service is extended until 00:00 and the mask is mandatory at all times except for the intake of food and drink. The exceptions of pharmacies, health centers, gas stations… (essential services) that can maintain 24-hour opening hours are maintained.

What about cinemas, theaters, concerts…?

As far as culture is concerned, this new curfew also means an increase for shows. In this way, as long as they allow attendees to be at their homes, cinemas, theaters, concerts and others, as well as places of worship, at 11:00 p.m., they will be able to finish their activity after 10:00 p.m. The capacity remains at 75%.

And at home, can there be meetings?

What does not change and the Community has already warned that it will pay more attention is regarding social gatherings in private places. The great debt of the infections by covid-19 that continues to disqualify the stay of people who do not live together, except for the exceptions of couples and people who live alone who can host a family unit.

What areas are still confined?

Regarding the confined regions, Madrid maintains its strategy of the (ZBS) in which up to 55 ZBS and 14 urban centers remain closed. This implies that its residents cannot leave except for justified reasons. In these special areas, the capacity is reduced to 30% in places of worship and 50% in sports activities and educational centers.

The Community of Madrid, unlike the majority of Spain, is not kept closed, so it is allowed to enter and leave its borders as long as you do not belong to one of these 69 zones with exceptions.
