This is the new way to apply for your retirement pension: requirements and procedures

Social Security is notifying citizens that they have a new way to apply for retirement. Beneficiaries will be able to carry out the process from home and if they need the traditional digital certificate or Cl@ve system, they will only need their ID.

To do this, the applicant will only have to access the Social Security Electronic Headquarters and identify themselves by sending a photo along with their ID. From here, the citizen will be able to access the section provided for these procedures. In addition, he will also be able to check the status of his request once he has made it.

Requirements to request the retirement pension

Social Security establishes a series of conditions so that the worker can access the retirement pension. Specifically, the applicant must:

– Be 66 years old. In addition, you must also prove at least 15 years of contributions, of which, at least 2 years must have contributed in the last 15 years.

– Be 65 years old and at least 37 years old and have contributed 3 months, of which at least 2 years must have been contributed in the last 15 years.

– Being in the cases in which the retirement age can be reduced or brought forward: early retirement, partial retirement or people with disabilities, among other cases.

What do I need to apply for the retirement pension?

The retirement pension can be requested a maximum of 3 months in advance of the date on which the right to this subsidy arises.

However, the citizen must take into account that the file cannot be processed until this right is obtained and the Administration has verified that, in fact, they have stopped working or, if they are not registered, that they have not changed. your employment status from the date of application.

To apply for the retirement pension, the beneficiary must attach the following documentation:

– In all cases, the applicant must provide their identity document, or legal representative, when the case arises.

– In the event of being married or having children, you will also have to provide supporting documents of marriage or relationship.

– In addition, depending on the type of retirement requested, Social Security may require other documents such as the company certificate, certificate of disability and degree or termination of employment, among others.
