Normally commercial plugin updates from CodeCanyon, Evanto, etc., usually provide the plugin in an installable zip.
But in order to install it you have to rename the folder of the previous plugin.
1. Make a backup copy of the affected installation.
2. From your cPanel, Files, File Manager go to the /wp-content/plugins folder
3. Locate the plugin folder you want to update and rename it, for example, add _old to the end of the name to make it name_of_the_folder_old
4. Go to the WordPress dashboard, Plugins, Add New, Upload File.
5. Select the zip you have downloaded (1).
6. Click ‘Install’ and activate it. (two)
(1).- First check on your computer that there are no other .zip files inside the downloaded .zip file, this is usually the case with commercial plugins. If there are several files inside, one of them will be the -zip that you must install.
(2).- After activating it, you should be able to go to the plugin and see the same data that you already had. Renaming the folder of the previous version of the plugin does not affect the data generated or managed with that plugin.
