The global logistics company UPS (NYSE: UPS), has its plans to acquisition of Italian healthcare logistics provider, Bomi Group to expand the network specialized in health sector services, UPS Healthcare, in Europe and Latin America. Founded in 1985, the Bomi Group has more than 150 clients multinationals from around the world. In November 2021, the company had bought the Spanish family business Picking Pharmawhich specializes in logistics solutions for companies in the pharmaceutical, veterinary and cosmetic sectors.
Increased storage, equipment and employees for UPS
Through this transaction, UPS Healthcare will acquire climate-controlled facilities located in 14 countries, as well as 3,000 employees qualified, both in Europe and Latin America. In addition, the 350 temperature-controlled vehicles and 391,000 m2 of global infrastructure, will allow UPS to offer faster delivery times and greater flexibility in production, giving it a significant competitive advantage. In Spain alone, the Bomi Group has more than 66,000 m2, and 180,000 storage pallets, mainly between Madrid and Catalonia.
