Fab acquires Finnish furniture company One Nordic

The ups and downs to which it is being subjected are typical of a first-rate explosive cyclogenesis. During the last year this company, which became one of the main references in the Global eCommerce of furniture and decorationhas carried out stencil cutouts that have affected nearly 300 jobs has lost a good part of its talented managers (chief designer and co-founder included) and it even plans to lay off a fifth of its already meager workforce in the near future. Now, when it seemed like everything was headed for disaster, Fab has stunned the eCommerce world with the acquisition of One Nordic Furniture.

Fab bets on selling its own furniture

Although the surprise is not so great if you review what we told you a little over a month ago, I would try to bet on ceasing to be a third-party furniture seller to become market their own products. Well, that time has come, and the same company that once became a benchmark in social commerce has announced the purchase of the Finnish company known in the Scandinavian countries as “the luxury one”.

The truth is that in One Nordic’s business model there are many aspects that are reminiscent of the one that has made IKEA in a world leader: Simple furniture, with a nordic design, disassembled and ready to be assembled by your customers. However, the directors of this Finnish company disagree: For them, their furniture has a higher quality and they are also a lot easier to mount than those of its Swedish competitor: without the need for its customers to resort to screws or manuals of any kind. All one spread bet to try to relaunch Fab sales in Europe, with an operation whose total amount has not been disclosed, although they have estimated it at “tens of millions of dollars.”
