The problem seems that you have it with the assignment of the menu item that you have marked as start, which is misconfigured. The proof is that if you open your website
Content only visible to registered users
the wrong view loads you.
Go in the web administration to Menus->Main Menu and check if the Start menu item is marked as the web start item. In the list of menu items you will see a column named Start with stars. The Start menu item must have the star marked (in yellow). If not, click on it to make it the default item.
If it still fails, send a screenshot so we can see the configuration you have made from the main menu.
