80 percent of patients treated with shock waves experience an improvement in their erectile dysfunction problems, a study conducted by the Boston Medical Group has shown.

In addition, the work reveals that after the treatment, 14 percent of the patients achieve an erection of one hundred percent and 56 percent affirm that they are able to achieve an erection sufficient for penetration during the first monthly check-up. In this line, 66 percent of the patients who participated in the study have managed to maintain satisfactory penetrative sex.
To carry out the study, men between 22 and 52 years of age and with an average of 42 months experiencing erectile dysfunction problems have been analyzed. Among them are patients who had previously tried drug treatments or intravenous injections and a third group for whom none of the previous treatments had worked.
And it is that, shock waves have been used for years to remedy problems such as kidney stones or even in physiotherapy or sports medicine. In the case of erectile dysfunction, these low-intensity waves transmit energy and accelerate self-healing processes in the body.
In addition, the transmission of shock waves locally generates a neovascularization or angiogenesis effect, which improves metabolism, stimulates the formation of microvascular blood vessel networks, and increases blood flow to erectile tissue, in order to achieve and maintain a complete and constant erection in the patient.
THE BEST RESULTS ARE SEEN FROM THE FIRST MONTH
In each session, 3,000 low-energy shock waves are applied distributed over 10 ten areas of the penis in order to act on the entire erectile tissue. The best results are observed from the first month after finishing the treatment, and the total duration is usually five weeks, with a weekly session of approximately 20 minutes.
