In the seventh class of the Intermediate After Effects course we began to learn some of the most important post production techniques.
Tracking will allow us to track a specific object in a video and be able to apply modifications to it. Being able to create special effects using one of the advanced tools of After Effects.
We will learn how to use the tracking option and the applications that this post-production technique has. Let’s start!
Why is it interesting to be able to track all these objects? We have learned about one of the most advanced After Effects techniques that shows us the power that this application hides.
Motion tracking is the process of using technology to track the movement of an object on video. Once you have the data for the tracked object, you can apply the movement data to other objects or elements and they will match that movement.
The benefits of tracking really shine once you start to understand how it can be applied to our projects. We have been introduced to three concepts: tracking objects in space using null objects, sequence stabilization, and how to place objects in real video footage.
Using object tracking and other techniques that we have learned, and will learn in the following classes, we can pretty much do whatever we want with our video productions.
As homework, you have the videos that we have used in this class so that you can use them to emulate the steps that we have done in this class. You can download them from the link that we leave below the video. Let’s follow the steps we’ve learned and use the crawler to modify the content of these videos.
