Baden-Württemberg, the region where all the colors of Germany shine

The federal state of Baden-Württemberg, located on the border with France, claims to be the sunniest in Germany. Land of wines and gourmets who appreciate good food, of unique natural spaces such as the Black Forest or Lake Constance and of world-renowned spa towns such as Baden-Baden. Here are the oldest half-timbered houses in Germany and also the beautiful city of Heidelberg.

Baden-Württemberg is also a region with a solid economy, closely linked to the automobile industry, of which it is the cradle as well as the headquarters of some of its flagship companies, such as Porsche and Mercedes Benz. These two great brands tell tourists the history of the automobile – past, present and future – through two museums with impressive architecture that alone make a visit to Stuttgart, the capital of the federal state, worthwhile.

Supported by all these attractions, tourism has been positioning itself as a booming sector for Baden-Wurttemberg. The homeland of Einstein and the poet Schiller is one of the favorite destinations for Spaniards who travel to Germany, although Berlin continues to lead the rankings. Thanks to the excellent air connections, with direct flights from Madrid and Barcelona, the growth potential of this German destination in the Spanish market is very promising.

And for this reason, just a few days ago, the Baden-Württemberg Tourist Board and the High Black Forest and Baden-Baden Tourist Offices jointly organized a promotional presentation of the destination in Madrid. An event that had the support of the German National Tourist Office and the German Embassy itself.
