BME Growth adds 10 new companies in the year after the three debuts of the week

In a difficult year in the financial markets like the current one, only one company, . More movement is being seen among the small companies that come to BME Growth -the one aimed at small capitalization firms that seek to expand-. This Friday, after Thursday and Wednesday. And with them there will be 10 companies that this year have joined this market.

The rate of departures has accelerated this month, with four debuts, and is already similar to that of 2021, when 16 new firms landed in the whole of the year. One of the keys that was seen last year, and that is being repeated this year, is that there are more openings of companies in expansion than of socimis. The latter are required to list if they want to benefit from tax advantages and, for this reason, many very small family vehicles take advantage of the BME Growth platform, so that in some years they dominated the premieres.

In 2022, seven firms have joined the segment of expanding companies -including this Friday’s- while three of the debuts correspond to socimis (see graph).

Jesús González Nieto (BME Growth): “The post-Covid environment, the rise in renewable energy and rate hikes are leading companies to seek alternative sources of financing to face their growth”

“The change in the production model in which Spanish companies are immersed has favored the incorporation into BME Growth of a significant number of companies in expansion. The post-Covid environment, the rise of renewable energies and the scenario of rate increases make that it is more necessary than ever for them to look for alternative sources of financing with which to face their growth and expansion plans”, points out Jesús González, managing director of BME Growth, who adds that “all this means that this BME market has a significant relevant in biotechnology, green energy and other sectors with a high growth component and less representation in the main market”.

With the two new additions, Axon and Umbrella Solar, the investment services sector is entering this market for the first time and the renewable energy sector is reinforced, which has five firms (EiDF, Greenalia, Enerside Energy, Holaluz and Solarprofit ), although Greenalia will soon be delisted after a takeover bid. They are not just any companies. All of them are among the ten largest by capitalization of this market –not including socimis–.

The ranking is led by the Galician EiDF, specialized in photovoltaic solar energy installations, with a stock market value of more than 900 million that brings it closer to making the leap to the Continuous Market after its debut a year ago.

Beyond renewables, Proeduca, the group that owns the International University of La Rioja, also capitalizes more than 800 million and is another of the candidates to move to the Continuum at some point.

More aspirants to BME Growth will not be missing either. This Thursday another company in the renewable energy sector, Energy Solar, announced that it had started a financing round before its listing, scheduled for the end of the year. And the tech group.
