Caja Rural de Extremadura appoints Juan Palacios Gómez as general director

The Governing Board of Caja Rural de Extremadura has agreed on the appointment of Juan Palacios Gómez as general director of the entity.

In a new drive to consolidate the regional nature of this financial institution and to consolidate the values ​​that have governed its operations since its inception, Caja Rural de Extremadura has opted for an executive with extensive knowledge and experience in positions of high responsibility in the financial sector, both national and international.

Juan Palacios Gómez has a degree in Economics from the University of Granada, a Master’s in Banking Management from ESNA and a Senior Business Management Program (PADE) from IESE Business School.

He began his career in 1999 at EY (Ernst&Young), where he became director of Financial Services. In 2004 he joined Caja Rural del Sur and for 10 years he led various areas such as Strategy, Control, Risk and Business. Later he moved his residence to Chile, to be a banking consulting partner of EY (Ernst & Young) assuming in 2016 the responsibility of Global Risk Control (CRO) in Banco de Chile, one of the main private banks in Latin America. In his last stage he has been the territorial director of Andalusia for Caja Almendralejo.

Therefore, it accumulates extensive experience of more than 20 years in the financial sector, with extensive knowledge of the regional economy, its lines of development and financial markets, as well as the world of credit cooperatives and their participated companies.
