Castilla y León begins the de-escalation and will allow travel between provinces from this Saturday

The Junta de Castilla y León has decided this morning to relax some restrictive measures given the positive evolution in the number of infections and has lifted the perimeter closure between its nine provinces, although the regional one is maintained, while increasing the capacity in places of worship.

According to the Vice President of the Board, Francisco Igea, these are measures that are the responsibility of the President, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, as a delegated authority and, in view of the evolution of the data, it has been decided to relax some of the measures.

The move occurs after that at eight o’clock in the evening.

Thus, it will be possible to travel between provinces of the Community although it will not be possible to leave or enter Castilla y León without justification and the limit of 25 people in temples is eliminated to limit the capacity to a third. This limitation had been highly criticized by the Church, which considered it “discriminatory”.

However, the maximum limit of four people in social gatherings is maintained and shopping centers, sports centers and the interior of hospitality establishments, whose terraces can only open until eight in the afternoon, remain closed.
