You know, if you used any ‘hack’ to add reCAPTCHA manually, or plugins like the one mentioned, uninstall them! and configure the contact form management plugin itself to display No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHAwhich also supports audio, very useful for users who use screen readers.

How do you enable No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA in Contact Form 7?

This is the coolest part of the story, especially if you already had a form created with Contact Form 7 and offered a somewhat daunting and unreliable view of CAPTCHA in terms of security.

This type of CAPTCHA used tags on the form such as:

Of course, for this magic to work you must have the plugin installed on your WordPress blog or website.

If you don’t know how to create the form, watch this video of David Noguera where the creation process is explained.

From the dashboard, first make sure you have the latest version of Contact Form 7, specifically 4.3, otherwise what are you waiting for to update?

Then in the menu on the left of the dashboard, in Contact A new option will appear called Integration which is where you have to configure the reCAPTCHA public and private keysin the Google service.

Not sure how to get those reCAPTCHA keys on Google? it’s time for you to go to the and get the ones for your domain. Write them down because they will be the same for your domain from now on!

Returning to the menu Integrationyou click the button Configure Keys to see the next screen where you will have to insert the Site Key and the Secret Key that you have obtained.

Save the changes and access the menu Contact labeled as contact forms to edit the contact form that you have previously created.

You eliminate the short codes (if you had them created in the form) that showed the simple CAPTCHA of previous versions of Contact Form 7.

In the space left by the previous short codes (short-codes) you position the cursor and click on the “Form” button labeled as to insert it into that space. A modal window opens for you to configure the format of the type of reCAPTCHA to display, which you can leave it by default as it appears and click the button on that same screen Insert.

Now you can click on the bottom button of the Form labeled as Save to complete the process.

Reload the Contact form on the front of your website and you will see something similar to this.

If you look at the process, it is simpler than it appears in these screenshots, and you can do it in less than 2 or 3 minutes.

It is recommended that you make the change of the old CAPTCHA or get rid of additional plugins that you can leave behind by activating the functionality of No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA which default now Contact Form 7 offers you in the new version.
