In previous articles we have seen how to locate extensions in the JED and how to know which ones are most suitable for us. In this article we will focus on using a great extension called Phoca Gallery, which has a very good reputation among users and developers of Joomla! websites.

The extension is located in the Joomla! Extensions Directory, although we can also directly access the author’s page and download the latest stable version of the component and the corresponding language file in Spanish in the download area (or the one we want to use).

After downloading, we proceed to install the extension, as we explained in the video that we show at the end of this article, taking into account that if we already had a previous version of the extension, it will not be necessary to uninstall it and when deciding whether to install or update we will choose the “Upgrade” option.

To correctly activate the downloaded language, in this case “es-ES” we must previously unpack the file and upload the two .ini files to the folders /language/es-ES and /administrator/language/es-ES (both files in both folders).

Once this is done, we can access the extension, which will be presented in Spanish and ready for use. It is the rest of the process of how to create an image gallery in a simple way and publish it, we will explain it to you in the following video.

Now you have no excuse not to install Phoca Gallery and create your galleries of images, products, the University graduation trip, or your child’s swimming championship.
