eCommerce course #3. CMS Platforms – .com

One of the first important decisions that we are going to have to make to start walking with our online store is the platform that we are going to use to create it, that is, the CMS to choose.

And I can tell you that there are boring opinions about it… Basically we have three types of CMS (which by the way are the acronym for Content Management System):

• Open source or open source. Most of the people opt for this solution, which is made up of well-known platforms such as Prestashop or Woocommerce.
• Saas or on demand. With this option we will pay according to the use we make of the different functionalities that we have contracted. Shopify is one of the examples that is gaining the most strength within this option.
• Own development. Nooooo! Don’t get into that! Well, let’s not exaggerate either. An own development may be what you need if you have a very large project behind you or you need a store with custom functionalities.

Which is the best option? Well, in this lesson we are going to see different opinions about it, focusing on Magento, Prestashop, Woocommerce and Shopify, which are the 4 most used CMS.

Some more intended for large projects and others that can come in handy if you do not have experience. And to finish the lesson and not leave us anything, we will also see what a server and a domain are. Do these terms sound right to you?
