Gmail won’t force you to create a Google Plus account

From now on, those who open a new Gmail account will not have the obligation to create a Google Plus account. Google has decided to make some changes to the account creation process in Gmail and now it will be possible to click on the “No thanks” button when the possibility of creating a Google Plus account associated with the Gmail account is offered.

Since 2012, Google required new users who opened a Gmail account to also create a Google Plus account. This received quite a bit of criticism at the time, since it directly forced users of the popular email to create a new profile on their social network.

A Google spokesperson confirmed to the British newspaper Daily Telegraph the following information: “We updated the registration experience in early September. Users can now create a profile during registration, or later, whenever they want to share public content for the first time, such as reviewing a restaurant.

For those who refuse to create a Google Plus account at the time of creation of the Gmail account, Google continues to provide the possibility of creating a profile later. Google’s new social network, despite not taking off against its omnipotent competitor, Facebook, has added some improvements, such as the possibility of using Google Hangout. Also recently, Google has acquired Polar, a survey creation application. Among Google’s plans is the application from Polar to Google Plus. Polar has managed to create 500 million polls in the last eight months, with more than 1 million users voting in September alone.

We also remember that Vic Gundotra, creator of Google Plus, left the company this year. The future of Google’s social network remains uncertain to the extent that at no time has it managed to take the place of honor from Facebook.
