Inditex raises its dividend by 33% and will distribute almost 2,900 million euros

Inditex, which during 2022 will pay a dividend of 0.93 euros per share, which represents an increase of 33% compared to the previous year and a disbursement of almost 2,900 million euros.

Specifically, it will be an ordinary dividend of 0.63 euros (60% of the profits that it usually distributes) and an extraordinary one of 0.30 euros per share. This dividend will be distributed in two equal payments: 0.465 euros on May 2, 2022 and 0.465 euros on November 2, 2022.

Thus, in the new stage that Inditex is undertaking with Marta Ortega as president, the group plans to maintain its dividend policy.

The Board of Directors will also propose to the General Shareholders’ Meeting an extraordinary dividend of 0.40 euros per share to be paid in relation to the 2022 financial year.

In the 2021 financial year, it dedicated 2,192 million to the payment of dividends, compared to 1,090 million in 2020.

Inditex has also reported today that (closed last January), almost triple that in 2020 (193% more) and it was only 10% below the profit record it recorded in the pre-pandemic 2019.

Amancio Ortega will receive 1,718 million in dividends this year

The founder and first shareholder of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, will enter 1,718 million euros this year as dividends from the company, above the 1,294 million he received for this concept last year.

In total, the company will reward its shareholders this year with 2,898 million euros, after raising the aforementioned 33% dividend, up to 0.93 euros per share.
