Intermediate WordPress plugin development course #10. Community, reviews and support forum – .com

In the tenth and final lesson of the intermediate WordPress plugin development course, we are going to see the power of the WordPress platform and its community.

First of all, we saw in the previous lesson how to become part of the community at the translation level. Now we are going to see how the support forum, reviews and code tickets work.

The support forum is mostly used for anyone to post threads asking and/or requesting help or plugin information. Although they are mainly used to answer questions and solve problems, it is also interesting to use this tool to publish the following news of your plugin or questions to the users directly and get feedback. Go for it!

As you can see, the review system is quite similar to those found in the application stores of our mobile phones. You can put a score and a comment. If the wrong language is used, see internet trolls, it is possible to remove certain reviews.

Remember that both for reviews, support forums, and postings of new versions in the repository, it is possible to subscribe to receive email notifications.

And now yes… We have already finished the course! Now that you know how to create plugins, I encourage you to modify the one we have created in this course and make your own plugins for WordPress. The community of this tool is immense and offers many possibilities.

Plugins are good tools to provide new functionalities to our projects, but it is also important to see that if they have worked well for us, surely other people could also use these plugins and publishing them is a good way to contribute to the community.
