iryo, the third high-speed operator in Spain, prepares its arrival on the tracks. The company of the founders of Air Nostrum and Trenitalia will arrive, according to the business plan to which elEconomista.es has had access, to operate the connection between Madrid and Barcelona in which it will have up to 32 frequencies.
They will be joined by those that will link the capital with Levante, which will begin in December of this year and will have up to 16 connections. In this corridor, it includes connections with Castellón, Alicante and Murcia -with eight frequencies in the first case, and four in each of the other two cities-.
The last of the corridors, that of Andalusia, will begin next March 2023 with up to a maximum of twelve connections. Seville and Malaga will keep most of them, between ten and twelve, and up to Malaga they will reach between eight and ten frequencies maximum.
The company manages a map of the peninsula in which it has marked in red the lines on which it will begin to operate in the first place, in addition to indicating with a dot those cities that it considers “key”. Among them are most of the provincial capitals, highlighting the Galician ones -A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and Ourense- and the Asturian Oviedo and Gijón.
Beyond the structure of this map, and according to the same documentation, the company maintains its objective of being “the operator designed for the needs of companies”.
In addition, iryo clients will have access to an exclusive area in the Only You hotel chain for key clients. It will also have a loyalty club that will have the option of incorporating other partners.
It should be remembered that the company will have twenty new Frecciarossa 1,000 model trains that are in the approval process and will have high-speed Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity.
Four classes and four gastronomic offers
These trains will be divided, according to the aforementioned documentation, into four classes that will be accompanied by four gastronomic experiences.
