Loud explosion near the Stade de France before the match between France and Iceland

Hours before the Euro 2016 quarterfinal match between France and Iceland was played, a strong explosion occurred near the ‘Stade de France’ (France Stadium).

The first versions indicate that the Police would have exploded a suspicious car, according to the British newspaper ‘Daily Star’. The authorities have prevented fans from approaching the stadium, according to the British outlet. The stadium in the French capital will be the scene of the Eurocup quarterfinal match between France and Iceland, for the last ticket to the semifinals.

This same stadium was the target of terrorist attacks on November 13, when an explosive device was detonated outside the building during a friendly match between France and Germany, leaving three dead. That day in Paris, a total of 140 victims were registered, according to police reports, after a series of attacks in the French capital, which put the organizers of the Euro Cup on the ropes.
