Madrid extends the curfew until May 9 and only closes two new areas and one municipality

“Stabilization”. That has been the word with which the Deputy Minister of Public Health of the Community of Madrid, Antonio Zapatero, and the General Director of Public Health, Elena Andradas, have explained the measures announced this Friday and which go through extending the common restrictions to all the region until May 9, when the state of alarm declines.

Thus, until May 9, the curfew will be maintained between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., the prohibition of meetings in houses by non-cohabitants and the limitation of diners at tables in bars and restaurants (six on the terrace and four indoors), in addition to the obligation to wear a mask in public places, both indoors and outdoors, and only remove it at the precise moment of eating or drinking.

“Depending on the indicators, we will decide” on the continuity of the measures or not, Zapatero clarified.

At the close of Thursday, the cumulative incidence at 14 days stands at 398 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the community. With these data, the regional government has raised the incidence threshold for the perimeter closure to 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days.

However, given the closure of only three new zones (Gandhi in Ciudad Lineal, General Fanjul in Latina and Mayor Bartolomé González, in Móstoles) and one municipality (San Agustín de Guadalix), Andradas explained that the decision to limit mobility It is taken, in addition to the accumulated incidence, by two other factors: community transmission and the growing trend.

On the other hand, there are two areas of the 17 announced last week that recover mobility, two in the capital (Virgen de Begoña, in Fuencarral-El Pardo and Valdebernardo, in Vicálvaro), the municipality of Paracuellos del Jarama and the basic areas of Valle de la Oliva (Majadahonda) and San Fernando (San Fernando de Henares).
