In the fourth lesson of the OBS Studio advanced course we are going to learn how to use lower thirds and titles by using transitions applied to fonts.
OBS Studio continues to add features that improve our quality of life, and one of them is the possibility of applying transition animations in any type of source. This allows us to create titles and graphic elements natively, without the use of plugins, very easily. Likewise, we have other plugins that allow us to add more life to our canvas.
We’re going to learn how to create simple banners, titles, and graphic elements, as well as how to use StreamFX to take our font effects to another level. Let’s start!
We already have it! We have learned how to use a feature such as the application of font transition animations and turn this option into a complete studio for creating essential graphics for our live shows or recordings.
Thanks to this feature, we won’t have to use external animations or videos with transparency to label our scenes. We can do it natively, and saving a lot of resources from our OBS Studio.
Also, we have known the StreamFX plugin, one of the most widespread and recommended. With it we can go further when it comes to animating our sources or applying effects to our camera, captures and images.
As we can see, the use of native tools together with plugins is the perfect combination to fully customize our scenes.
For homework, we are going to create various labels by using the concepts we have learned in this class. Likewise, we will install the StreamFX plugin and test the different effects that it offers us. In class we have seen part of its scope, but we have many more possibilities with which to experiment.
