OBS course #2. User interface and initial configuration – .com

In the second class we are going to have the first direct contact with the OBS Studio interface. We will take a walk through its interface and we will talk about the usefulness of each of its sections.

A priori, its interface is simple, however, the complexity of mastering OBS Studio is the number of available options and types of configuration so that everything remains as we want.

Therefore, in this class, we are also going to perform the initial configuration of OBS Studio. We are going to leave it ready to be able to make our recordings or direct, and we can start from here. Let us begin!

With this first class we already have OBS Studio ready to broadcast or record. We have seen what resolution is ideal for live broadcasts, depending on which platform and the requirements of each one. Likewise, we have known the keyboard shortcuts and some advanced parameters that will greatly improve performance.

The different configuration profiles of the encoder, as well as establishing the canvas size and establishing the ideal initial configuration according to our hardware and the type of setup that we want to establish.

It is important to highlight the concept of the different resolutions that we can use and what impact they have on the performance of OBS Studio, and what is optimal for depending on whether we want to do live or record locally.

As a task I entrust you to carry out the initial configuration of your OBS, connect your account to the platform that you plan to transmit, and leave everything ready to record locally. And let’s set up our keyboard shortcuts. It is something that we will find very useful and will save us a lot of time in the long run.
