March continues with a high price on the main energies (gas, gasoline, butane, electricity…), despite the drop compared to last week left by the price on electricity. Direct consequence of the prices of the , but also of the high cost that the electric ones have been adding as well as the , this fact has caused that in the face of domestic consumption, it is vital to know when it is more profitable to use certain appliances (iron, washing machine, dishwasher , oven…) since its consumption can vary, assuming significant savings.
As shown by data from , the organization that manages the electricity markets of Spain and Portugal and collects their rates, the average price of electricity in Spain this Sunday, March 20, is 207.11 euros/MWh. Very high figures when compared to the price set a year ago, when the MWh cost 30.28 euros.

With regard to the daily variation, with reasoned stability throughout the day, the most profitable hours are concentrated in the early morning as well as throughout the afternoon. This leads the section between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to be the ‘cheapest’ with a price of 186.8 euros/MWh.

Why does the price of electricity vary so much?
