Salaries in marketing: how much do professionals in the sector earn in Spain

In recent years, the employment situation in Spain has led to a greater awareness of its reality and the detailed analysis by sectors, among which new areas such as digital marketing began to be included. The report has just been submitted Randstad on salary trends showing salaries in marketing and other activities in the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Seville and Bilbao.

Salaries in digital marketing, matched in Madrid and Barcelona

He analyzes the salary situation of different labor areas. Specifically (we maintain the terminology of the report) the following seven:

  • IT&Telecom
  • Logistics & Transportation
  • Branding, Insurance & advisory services: Tax & Legal
  • Life Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Sales & Marketing, Digital and Finance & HR.

We focus on the last, in which it is emphasized that 47% of the companies consulted will hire in the coming months for the sales department, while 15% will do so for Marketing, Communication and Digital, and 11% for Finance.

Within the marketing profiles, the equal pay in the provinces consulted, Madrid being the only one that exceeds the trend in profiles such as community manager. With notable differences between the upper and lower bands in all the Digital & eCommerce profiles, with the Digital Sales Manager (within the commercial profile) at the head of the income table with 100,000 euros.

In the Sales & Marketing area, wage parity is also perceived by city. Highlights the marketing manager profile which reaches a salary of 120,000 euros, followed by the export director (100,000 euros), and the communication director (75,000 euros).

Where is the market trend going?

The report analyzes the data presented and highlights that companies are currently experiencing a talent deficit which causes an upward trend in wages in the areas analyzed. In Sales & Marketing, Digital and Finance & HR, it also stands out that the 34.6% of workers are actively seeking employment with the intention therefore to change positions soon. This percentage of workers searching for a job is the highest of the areas analyzed.

In addition, in a previous Randstad report focused on the most in-demand profiles, eCommerce jobs were among those trending upwards with 2016 being the profiles of Brand manager, Key account manager, and Marketing manager the most sought after in this area.
