Schibsted Spain buys the real estate portal Habitaclia

Habitaclia, created in 2001 in Mataró, and currently based in Barcelona, ​​will continue to operate autonomously within Schibsted Spain, maintaining its offices and adding its more than 80 employees to the Schibsted workforce. Fotocasa and Habitaclia will continue to function independently, although synergy processes will be established between them. The figures of the operation are unknown at the moment.

The implicit synergies with the operation

In this way, Schibsted Spain strengthens its position in the real estate classifieds sector. With the new addition, Schibsted will offer its users monthly more than 1.5 million properties for purchase and rental from its more than 15,000 client real estate agencies and individuals.

Schibsted Spain receives more than 180 million visits per month, 35 of them from its real estate classifieds. Now, with this purchase, this traffic increases by more than 15%.

The billing of Habitaclia in 2016 was 6.8 million euros until the third quarter, which represents a growth of 36% over the previous year. It presents an EBITDA margin in its main area of ​​activity (Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Andorra) above 30%. This incorporation will increase the total turnover of Schibsted Spain by 8%, leading to a joint turnover of more than 88 million in the first three quarters of 2016.
