The Generalitat of Catalonia has published the procedure and the necessary requirements to access: a payment of 2,000 euros intended to alleviate the economic emergencies of one of the groups most affected by the crisis derived from the coronavirus pandemic. The measure, which involves an expense of 280 million euros, can cover 140,000 workers.

Who can opt for aid from the Generalitat?
-People who want to apply for this aid must be registered in the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) or an alternative mutual society and registered professionals who started their activity before November 10, 1995 without being covered by any of the mutual societies regulating the Regulation of Social Welfare Mutual Funds.
The number of dependent workers, if any, cannot exceed the numerical amount of six, taking 2019 as a reference. RETA or Mutualidad between January 2 and December 31, 2020″.
-Persons registered with RETA or an alternative mutual society that have founded a company with its own legal personality can also register. The number of partners cannot be greater than three and the total number of partners and workers cannot exceed six. The data from 2019 are taken as a reference, but if the company was founded in 2020, the data from January 2 to December 31, 2020 will be taken.
-The members of cooperatives that contribute to RETA or an alternative mutual society, provided that the number of members does not exceed three and the total amount of partners and dependent workers cannot exceed six. The 2019 data is taken as a reference, but in the event that the cooperative was founded in 2020, it would be taken from January 2 to December 31, 2020.
What are the requirements to access aid for the self-employed from the Generalitat?
-Have the tax domicile in Catalonia.
-Be registered in the RETA or an alternative mutual before January 1, 2021.
-Maintain registration as a self-employed worker at least until February 28, 2021.
-The personal income tax base in 2019 must not exceed 35,000 euros in individual taxation, and must be of the same amount with respect to the applicant’s taxable base in case of joint taxation.
-2020 net income cannot exceed 17,500. If the last registration as self-employed was after January 1, 2020, the net return cannot exceed the amount resulting from multiplying the days of self-employment in 2020 by 47.95 euros.
-Comply with the requirements of the general law on subsidies and the rest of the applicable regulations.
-Do not currently receive other aid.
How to apply for help for self-employed from the Generalitat?
Pre-registration must be made by filling in the form available at . It is clarified that each self-employed worker must present a single form for an economic activity, whether self-employed, a member of a micro-enterprise or a cooperative. It is important to note that the form must be filled out from 9:00 a.m. on February 19 to 3:00 p.m. on February 26.
