The 10 most expensive and exclusive cars you’ll (hopefully) see on the road

Unlike luxury, exclusivity is not necessarily a matter of money (although they are usually linked), but of belonging to a select group, made up of a few people, who can enjoy a specific and unique experience that no one else has. has access worldwide.

And in this sense, there are few more exclusive clubs like that of the owners of some cars of such limited production that on occasions they have come to represent only a single unit.

Added to this circumstance to the beauty and originality of its lines, the power of its engines and the exquisiteness of its finishes, there is no choice but to return to the pecuniary question, since, inevitably, we are talking about the most expensive contemporary cars in the world.

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

The occasion required it: it was the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and the Italian house celebrated its 110-year history with a ‘hypercar’ ready to attract all the attention.

With surprising aesthetics and careful aerodynamics to the millimeter, what generated the most surprise was its 1,480 horsepower, with an 8-liter W16 engine that allows it to reach 400 kilometers per hour.

To give even more relevance to the occasion, a model came off the assembly line, so it is not surprising that the highest figure ever paid for a car to date ended up paying for it: 16, 7 million euros.

Rolls Royce Sweptails

This is a vehicle that combines elements of a car, a plane and a yacht, the three great passions, according to what they say, of the exclusive client who commissioned the original design.

From this prototype, a total of 28 units came out of the German automobile factory, which presented it at the 2017 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. At 13 million euros per car, this is one of the most expensive ever manufactured.

Mercedes Benz by Maybach Exelero

Here we have another unique model, commissioned in 2004 by Goodyear’s German subsidiary company Fulda with the aim of testing the brand’s new tires at their peak performance.

To carry it out, Mercedes Benz resorted not only to a design that enhanced speed, but also to materials designed to offer the greatest versatility both inside and outside.

It features a twin-turbocharged V12 engine while offering passenger-friendly capacity. The final bill amounted to 7.5 million euros.

Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita

For those who do not understand motorsport, it will be easier to understand the high price reached by this unique model from the Swedish brand: its exterior finish, patented under the name Diamond Wave, is based on a ‘cloak’ of diamonds on carbon fiber.

In fact, what was going to be a limited edition of three units had to be reduced to two due to the complexity of manufacturing said material.

With a price that reached 4.5 million euros, the model mounts a powerful twin-turbo aluminum V8 engine that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. Given the curiosity that the Trevita aroused, Koenigsegg presented a more affordable model, the Jesko, at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Lamborghini Veneno Roadster

Nine units of this supercar left the factory of the Italian firm, all incorporating a 6.5-liter V12 aspirated engine, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 in 2.9 seconds.

Lamborghini’s bet was to adapt all the power and aerodynamics of a racing prototype to the conventional road, and the result was this clearly aeronautical-inspired model with large proportions. Its price reached 3.5 million euros.

Bugatti Veyron Mansory Vivere

This exceptional car, of which only two units were manufactured, was born from the collaboration between the Italian house Bugatti and the German car customization studio Mansory.

Together they worked with the production Veyron to turn it into this supercar to which Mansory contributed, among other things, its characteristic carbon fiber fabric.

The standard Veyron engine was retained, with 1,200 horsepower, with a top speed of 408 km/h. In the end, this asphalt masterpiece reached 3.2 million euros.

W Motors Lykan Hypersport

Based in Dubai, the company of Lebanese origin W Motors surprised the motor sector with the presentation in 2013 of its first supercar, the Lykan Hypersport.

With titanium LED headlights encrusted with 420 15-carat diamonds, plus a holographic display on the center console, it had no trouble climbing to the top of the most expensive cars of the day.

True reflection of the tastes of that market, everything in this car is ‘excessive’. Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 385 km/h. Other details, such as the upholstery sewn with gold thread on its seats, help to understand why its price stands at 3.1 million euros.

Pagani Huayra BC

In Quechua, huayra means wind, which is a pretty obvious clue as to what the priority of this two-seater supercar is. The combination of its V12 biturbo engine and its coupé body allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.94 seconds and reach 386 km/h.

In fact, it is interesting to note that a major revision of the conventional Huayra design has been carried out to give this exclusive model, of which only 20 units have been manufactured, the best efficiency against the wind. For all this, its price rises to just over 3 million euros.

Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio

Ferrari only assembled six units of this exceptional car with which the Italian house wanted to pay tribute to Sergio Pininfarin, who was, for more than four decades, president of the legendary company.

Consequently, the design of this two-seater evokes the glory days of Ferrari under Pininfarin’s leadership, in the 1960s and 1970s, with strong inspiration from the 458 Spider.

It reaches 320 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds. Only six units were made, all for very special clients who had to pay $3 million for their new car.

aston martin valkyrie

They say of this car, which has not yet reached the market, that it is the ultimate hypercar. The development of this hybrid has been carried out by Aston Martin and Red Bull, in an agreement to create a true beast on wheels of which 150 units have already been sold although it has not yet set foot on the street (in fact, it is still facing the look like some development issues).

Although official prices have not been published, all estimates point to around 3 million euros for this vehicle equipped with a V12 engine, with 6.5 liters of displacement, which ensures a maximum speed of more than 321 km/h. We are definitely before the fastest car in the world approved for driving on the roads.
