The Social Security notice: this is what you have to pay home employees

People who have a domestic worker or worker employed must assume the payment not only of their salary, but also of their contribution to Social Security. These are two responsibilities inherent to the hiring of these people and for this reason the organization carries out information work with the aim of regularizing the situation of all employees in this sector.

In its Twitter social network, Social Security has recalled what is the minimum wage that must be paid and what amounts must be paid for the contributions of these people.

Social Security explains that registering household employees is mandatory and implies the payment of Social Security contributions and that the contributions are intended to “insure certain risks and give the right to future benefits.”

Since the fee depends on the salary paid to these workers, Social Security makes it clear that “the agreed salary must be equal to or greater than the Minimum Interprofessional Salary established each year.” In cases of a full day, and, the minimum amount must be 965 euros per month in 14 payments or 32.17 euros per day.

Having clear what the contribution base is, a 23.6% fee must be paid for common contingencies and 1.5% for professional contingencies. However, in cases of initial discharge or belonging to a large family, it can be reached. The worker, for his part, will have to pay 4.7% of his contribution base for common contingencies.
