Income 2019 | You can now request an appointment to make the Income statement at the offices of the Tax Agency

The Tax Agency (Aeat) anticipates that the attention to taxpayers to make the 2019 Income statement in person at its offices will begin next Monday, June 8, with a prior appointment request from June 5.

This year, the service is configured as a complement to personalized assistance by telephone, given that the global assistance period in the Agency’s centers will be half that of a face-to-face campaign in offices in other years, and will be restricted, at your discretion. time, to half the spaces usually available.

According to the Tax Agency, this is due to the need to maintain safety distances in common areas and between service posts, as well as for proper management, from a health perspective, of taxpayer entry and exit flows.

For these same reasons, the office assistance appointment will open periodically and for a reduced interval of days, to then open other appointment days, and so on until the end of the campaign.

In this way, it is possible to adjust the absorption capacity that, given the health circumstances, the different care centers have.

With the reinforcement of the telephone declaration preparation system, in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities and Town Halls, added to the acceleration of online and app filings, the Aeat intends that, in the shortest possible time, the majority of taxpayers they can leave their statement already submitted, without having to wait for face-to-face care whose start has been subject to health circumstances.

Therefore, if at a given moment the taxpayer does not find available appointments, this will not mean that there are no appointments left, but that more appointments will be reopened a few days later, but the Agency recommends not waiting for this new opening, but opting for the ‘We call you’ service that will continue to have sufficient demand absorption capacity and that, as of June 8, will also attend, as will happen in offices, the most complex rentals (up to two rentals, up to two economic activities in modules and gains or losses derived from up to two asset transfers).

As every year, and especially in this campaign, in order to mitigate a possible loss of appointments to the detriment of taxpayers as a whole, the Agency reminds citizens in a note that they can cancel the appointment in the same way as they have arranged it if they have decided not to use it.

In past years, in more than 25% of appointments made more than a week in advance, the taxpayer ultimately did not show up.

Returns made until today

The Tax Agency (Aeat) has already returned 4,994 million euros after two thirds of the Personal Income Tax campaign corresponding to 2019 (IRPF 2019). More than 7,796,000 taxpayers have received, to date, their refund, according to the data provided by Aeat itself

In this way, an increase in returns is maintained, reaching 9.7% in number and 15.5% in amount.

The Aeatt points out in a note that in the context of a health emergency, and taking into account that 88% of taxpayers submit their returns online, it was considered especially important to maintain the scheduled start date of the campaign (April 1), of so that taxpayers could receive their refunds as soon as possible.

This increase in returns is linked to the growth registered in parallel in the filings themselves, since at this time 13,343,000 taxpayers have already filed their return, 848,000 more than last year (+6.8%).

This campaign is expected to present 21,030,000 declarations, 1.6% more than the previous year. Of this total, it is expected that 14,565,000 give the right to a refund, almost 70% of the total and 0.5% more than last year, for an estimated amount of 10,686 million euros.

The streamlining in filings also continues to affect returns with a result to be entered, which grew by 9.2%, already exceeding the figure of 2,700,000. Speeding up the filing does not impair taxpayers with returns to be filed, since they begin to pay at the end of the campaign.

As regards the means of filing, in addition to the main online channel, which is the AEAT website (www.agenciatributaria.es), taxpayers also continue to expedite filing through the Agency’s mobile application. Through this route, more than 325,000 declarations have been filed to date, 28% more than last year.

Of this total figure, the Aeat points out, more than 267,000 correspond to ‘one-click’ submissions and the rest are taxpayers who have been referred by the application to the Agency’s website to make some modification and have returned to the APP. to conclude the presentation.

Strong increase in telephone

The other great vector of the increase in presentations to this date is the ‘We Call You’ plan. This system of personalized assistance in the preparation of declarations has multiplied by almost six times its capacity to supply the traditional assistance in offices while the sanitary circumstances did not exist to be able to start the reopening of the Agency’s centers for a service that implies a great public influx.

As a result of this resizing of the telephone service, in less than a month (the service was launched on May 7) more than 718,000 declarations have been submitted through ‘Le Llamamos’, three times as many as those made through this channel in the three months it was in operation last year.

To date, more than 1,150,000 appointments have been made for the telephone preparation of returns, proof of its good reception among taxpayers who require personalized assistance.

Taxpayers who, when requesting an appointment online or by telephone for the ‘We Call You’ service, provide a mobile phone (the most recommended option), receive an SMS indicating the day they are expected to be attended to, as well as a link to the documentation that must be available on the day of the appointment.

By way of example, explains the Aeat in its note, new filers must have available the IBAN number of an account they hold. Taxpayers with the Agency’s ‘app’ downloaded are sent a ‘push’ message with the same information.

Additionally, taxpayers with income from economic activity in objective estimation (modules) and those who have income from real estate capital, upon making the appointment, are offered a document that helps them compile the necessary information so that they have it ready and available. at the time the Agency calls them, thus expediting the presentation of the declaration.
