The BOE reports: this is the 2022 work calendar with all national and regional holidays

The Official State Gazette (BOE) the official work calendar for 2022. Pointing out the 17 autonomous communities, as well as Ceuta and Melilla, the text includes the 12 holidays that correspond to each region where each city council must later include another two days of release. All until completing the 14 dates indicated (one more than in 2021), in which for this coming year eight are common to all of Spain.

In the final stretch of the year, the General Directorate of Labor has reported the entire work calendar for 2022. In order to “advertise labor holidays”, as reflected in the BOE, the document includes the possibility of moving holidays that fall on Sunday to Monday, as well as empowering the Autonomous Communities to choose between a certain number of dates as long as they do not exceed 14 holidays.

With all this, for the following 365 days, eight joint festivities are determined for the entire national territory. These are, in chronological order, January 1 and 6 (New Year and Epiphany of the Lord, respectively), April 15 (Good Friday), August 15 (Assumption of the Virgin), October 12 (National Holiday of Spain), November 1 (All Saints), December 6 and 8 (Day of the Spanish Constitution and Immaculate Conception, respectively).

December 26 becomes a holiday in most autonomies as Christmas falls on a Sunday

In addition, April 14 (Holy Thursday) is a holiday throughout Spain except Catalonia, which takes June 6 instead (Easter Monday Granada), and December 26 (Monday after the Nativity of the Lord) except Catalonia. -which interprets this day as San Esteban-, Galicia, the Basque Country, the Valencian Community and Ceuta.

Finally, the calendar includes certain specificities for the Canary Islands, with local festivals according to each island (), as well as for the territory of Arán in Catalonia. In this small region, the BOE provides that December 26 (San Esteban) is replaced by June 17 (Fiesta de Arán).
