The Generalitat Valenciana extends the curfew in 77 municipalities until August 16

The Valencian Government has announced its intention to extend the night curfew to limit mobility from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., expanding its application from 32 to 77 municipalities and extending it until August 16.

Some measures that the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ) of the Valencian Community and has authorized this afternoon. In this way, the curfew will affect municipalities with more than 2.6 million inhabitants, more than half the population of the autonomy.

The incidence will be even higher if one takes into account that they are included in tourist areas with a significant increase in seasonal visitors these days, such as Gandía, Benidorm, Oropesa and Benicasim, as well as the capitals of Valencia and Alicante.

The intention of the Government of Ximo Puig is for this measure to enter into force on Sunday night. In the new list of municipalities, 8 populations are withdrawn but the affected localities are increased to 77.

The closing time of the hotel business at 00:30 in the entire autonomy will also be maintained until at least mid-August.

In addition, it has requested to renew the authorization to limit meetings to 10 people in both public and private spaces.

Vaccination

Regarding the slow rate of vaccination compared to other CCAAs, the Valencian Government announced that it will receive 243,979 more doses, the majority due to having more population in the age groups that will now begin to be vaccinated. Only 9,281 will correspond to the balance between displaced persons who have been vaccinated in the region, some 50,000, compared to Valencians who have received doses in other autonomies, 40,000.
