The startup specializing in the sale of coffee GoodNews closes a round of €11M to expand its business – Marketing 4 Ecommerce – Your online marketing magazine for e-commerce

GoodNews, born at the beginning of the pandemic, a specialist in the sale of coffee in kiosks, small takeaway shops, has been able to build its own brand and style that has generated a notable community in a short time and has even led it to put the sale of official products in its virtual store for its followers. Now, a couple of years after its launch, it has announced the closure of a Series A for 11 million euros.

The amount received triples the value of the three financing rounds in which it had participated to date, with which Good News becomes the specialist coffee startup that more money has raised in Europe: €15 million.

Bet on digitization

And between chaos and hope, a group of friends from Barcelona decided to undertake the mission of refilling the neighborhoods with good vibes, reminding people that, in the worst moments of Humanity, good things continue to happen to us for which It’s worth staying happy. And to achieve this, this group of young people transformed a newsstand in the city of Barcelona, ​​gave it the name “GoodNews”, and began to serve discounted coffees in exchange for customers telling them something good that had happened to them in the last few days.”

With this injection of capital, the company plans to continue betting on the digitalization of its business model and implement with which he intends digitize the sale of coffee at home and in offices. The cost of the subscription ranges between 35 and 41 euros per month and includes a kilo of coffee, in addition to the grinding machine, which seeks to put an end to the accumulation of waste generated by the capsules. In the case of the subscription plan with a machine, the customer receives the appliance, in addition to 1kg of coffee per month or 2kg every 2 months, being able to change the variety with each delivery. If you choose only coffee, the same but without a machine.

The company also has one in which the brand’s followers can purchase different varieties of coffee from time to time, as well as official brand products (thermos, glasses, caps, hats), as well as coffee machines.

Among the company’s plans after this injection of resources is diversify your line of businesslaunching into the world of vitamin drinks, as well as consolidating its presence in the offline world, for which they want to have 50 stores by the end of 2022.
