These are the five best Spanish olive oils (and their price) in the world

Spanish extra virgin olive oils have been the ones that have achieved the highest number of awards at the Olive Japan International Extra Olive Oil Competition 2021, which is awarded by the Association of Olive Oil Sommeliers of Japan (OSAJ). Only Italy has managed to keep up with the rest of the nations.

The organization of the awards received a total of 811 references of extra virgin olive oil from 27 countries, registering the largest number of contestants since 2012. A good reception that has allowed them to award 10 premier medals (the highest award), 10 ‘Toshiya Tada Special Olive Oil Sommelier’ awards (finalists for premier), 342 gold medals and 318 silver medals.

Of this large number of awards, Spain, which had presented 231 brands, has won 63 silver medals, 133 gold and 5 premier. Spain has been the country that has won the most medals in each category except in the premier, as Italy also added five banners.
