These are the SEPE procedures that you can do without going to their offices

Although the health situation due to the coronavirus pandemic is better than last year, there are still certain problems in getting an appointment to go to a SEPE (State Public Employment Service) office with the aim of carrying out any procedure.

That is why the agency already provided a pre-application service a few months ago for which possession of a digital certificate (), electronic ID or , is not necessary, so it is an accessible way to carry out certain procedures without having to appear at a SEPE office.

The body that through this route can execute different procedures. The most common refer to the request for the different benefits dependent on the SEPE: the contributory benefit (unemployment), unemployment benefits, Active Insertion Income or agricultural subsidies.

In addition, not only can you request the collection of these aids: you can also request extensions of the benefits, the single payment (capitalization), compatibility with a partial job or self-employment, as well as the delivery of the Annual Declaration of Income, necessary to prove the economic criteria of some subsidies.

Of course, you can also ask for a drop in the benefit being received, including the reason for the drop: a job for someone else or self-employed, exceeding the economic threshold, situations of maternity, paternity or temporary disability, as well as departures from Spain.

In addition, the citizen will be able to have access to practical services related to the benefits: the change of the bank account in which the payment of the aid is domiciled or the processing status of both an incident on an application and the benefit itself.

How to make a SEPE pre-application

In order to carry out any of these procedures, the citizen must access the pre-application service of the SEPE Electronic Office, . By entering your ID and indicating the type of procedure you wish to carry out, you can start the procedure by filling in all the fields with your personal information.

When the form is completed, the system will ask you to answer a security question to finish the process. The SEPE explains that “by sending the form, a registration receipt can be generated, which allows proof of completion of the pre-application”.
