This is how Aldi’s award-winning cheeses are sold for less than 4 euros

Dairy week at Aldi and with a view to Christmas of authentic recognition for its flavor and good treatment of the product. The German chain, ready to continue breaking sales records, currently has two world-winning cheeses, as well as five other high-class cheeses that are sold at a bargain price.

Aldi does not usually stand out for its cheeses as they have been recognized as operating in Spain on other occasions. However, the German company wanted to surprise its customers with a range of dairy products in its specialized section this week for pâtés, foies and cheeses.

The latter, presenting the great novelty and attractiveness of the chain, arrive under the Special white label with which Aldi brings together these high-category dairy products. Some cheeses that arrive distributed by different suppliers but among which stands out .

This French company, based near Dijon, stands out for the manufacture of cheeses with Protected Designation of Origin (AOP, for its acronym in French) and has more than 100 years of history with tradition in the French countryside. Proof of this is their Langres Cheese and Triple Crème Cheese that Aldi sells these days.

Both recognized with a gold label at the 2018-19 World Cheese Awards, they consist of two soft-paste products made with pasteurized cow’s milk. With a mild flavor, both come in wedges of 180 grams and cost 3.69 euros.

But in addition to these, Aldi also has these days a PDO Casar cake made by the renowned Quesos del Casar (Cáceres). Made from raw sheep’s milk, this cake presents one of the most recognized cheeses for spreadable appetizers or to accompany recipes with a distinguished flavor. Of course, somewhat more expensive due to its significant recognition, 7.99 euros, the unit weighs around 370 grams.

Finally, Aldi’s cheese offer these days closes with four other products that are not so well-known worldwide but that do offer excellent treatment and flavor. These are the cases of the St. Nectaire and Ossau Iraty cheeses (3.89 euros both), of French origin but produced by Iber Conseil España (Barcelona), and the sheep cheese with rosemary and sheep cheese in extra virgin olive oil ( 3.79 euros both), produced by Quesos Rocinante (Malagón, Ciudad Real).
