Bizum has long ceased to be a simple platform for instant money transfers between individuals, to become a new way of managing purchases and carrying out mass transactions. For this reason, the app that brings together the main banks that operate in Spain has introduced a series of reforms throughout this 2021, in order to make these movements safer by limiting both the amounts and the number of operations.

With more than 18 million active users, Bizum already brings together some thirty banking entities as well as approaches them to its platform. A system that has completely changed the way of making transactions in Spain, from the smallest shipments between friends and family to being able to enter, which not in vain has certain limits.

And it is that in order to fight against tax fraud as well as with a possibility of having greater monetary control, in recent months the service has been limiting both the number of possible movements per month and the amounts to be deposited and sent. That yes, only for individuals because it is true that in the modality of more specific companies according to the business model and the collaborating entity.

These are the new limitations of Bizum

In this way, anyone who wants to “make a bizum” must know that they have a maximum of 60 operations to receive during a month (the shipments are unlimited). That is, a daily movement that may be restricted, however, by the bank in question if the entity considers it so.

Regarding the amounts of money, with a minimum amount per operation of 50 cents, both to send and to receive, the maximum amount per operation is 1,000 euros. An amount that cannot be exceeded in the shipment, while for the receipt there is a daily limit of 2,000 euros.

Also, as with movements, each entity has the ability to further limit this function. Something that happens, mainly, in BBVA and CaixaBank where the maximum to send in an operation is 500 euros, in both, while in one day you can only send a maximum of 1,000 and 2,000 euros, respectively. In addition, at BBVA the limit to be sent monthly is 5,000 euros.
