It seems that the heat has already come to stay permanently. And although there are still weeks ahead with higher temperatures, many already have their minds set on sun, water and beach. Or, failing that, a pool.
While the luckier ones can enjoy their own pools, most have no choice but to go to a public venue.
In Madrid, its 19 public pools (3 are still under construction) will open to the public on May 14, coinciding with the eve of the city’s patron saint, San Isidro. They will also do so with an open day.

To access the venues, users must reserve a free ticket through , although a small percentage of the tickets will be available at the box office for people affected by the technological gap (elderly people and people with disabilities).
Those who get a ticket, will be able to access the municipal premises until the planned capacity is reached. In addition, two shifts have been established: one from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and another from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Hours and prices
As of May 14, users will be able to bathe in the city’s swimming pools until September 11, the day on which they will close until the next course. These, as on the opening day, will open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Ticket prices will be as follows:
– Children under 5 years: Free
– Children (from 5 to 14 years): 1.35 euros.
– Young (from 15 to 26 years old): 1.80 euros.
– Adult (from 27 to 64 years old: 2.25 euros.
– Senior (from 65 years): 0.70 euros.
