amazon want attract more users to its Premium service in Spain and has launched a new monthly plan that will offer the same advantages that they had until now, but with a cost of 4.99 euros per month.
The new Amazon Prime monthly plan will have all the benefits of the premium program
Amazon Prime arrived in Spain a few years ago: initially its price was 14.95 euros per year and later in 2015 it increased to €19.95 per year. With this service, premium users in Spain can obtain:
- Free expedited shipping in a large number of the products offered by its marketplace.
- Access to the service with streaming movies and videos.
- purchases in advance on sales days as expected.
- Reservations and shipments of new releases.
- Content streaming in .
- 5Gb for file storage and unlimited in the case of photographs.
In comparison, the price of a fare of 4.99 euros may sound outrageous, since represents a quarter of the annual fee, and it would be considerably more expensive to renew month after month to access the Prime service. But there are two situations that make this new Amazon monthly plan more meaningful.
- On the one hand, not all users use the Prime service throughout the year. Perhaps for someone it is much more affordable to be able to purchase a monthly plan to enjoy free and fast shipping only when you are going to use them, for example at Christmas time.
- With the new Amazon monthly plan you can offer your premium service to a larger number of users who will be able to enjoy its advantages with the payment method that best suits their needs.
Amazon Prime could increase the cost of your annual fee
Another scenario that must be taken into account is that in the rest of Europe the Prime rate is much more expensiveand the company plans match prices with the rest of the region.
In fact Spain and Italy are the two countries with the cheapest Prime rateswith a cost of 19.95 euros per year, while the cost rises to 49 euros per year, in Germany it increases even more to 69 euros per year (although it includes its Prime Music service) and in England this service has a cost of 89.21 euros each year.
It would not be strange then that the new Amazon monthly plan is an advance towards its increase in the annual rate of Prime in Spainand thereby intends to retain users who cannot continue paying for this service.
For now, new users will be able to register from under the premium modality of their choice. In terms of annual prime customers, they will have to wait for their next bill to arrivewhen they will be able to choose if they want to continue paying annually or subscribe to the new Prime monthly plan by accessing their account settings within the platform.
It will be a matter of waiting to see if Amazon actually plans in Spain, or if it simply wants open up new possibilities for all types of users.
