Amazon Style: this is the revolutionary (physical) store with which Amazon wants to reinvent fashion shopping – Marketing 4 Ecommerce – Your online marketing magazine for e-commerce

amazon has announced that it will open a new physical clothing store to be called amazon style. But it will not be a clothing store like any other, but a completely reimagined concept of these stores. This is a new experiment that will seek that users get clothes tailored to your tastesbased on different variables.

Through a press release, the online commerce giant has announced the opening of its first store of this type for this year (on a date to be determined) in Los Angeles; but beyond what is offered on the web, the objective that Amazon sets with this concept is to take the experience of buying in a physical store to another level, with a “technological touch”.

A futuristic clothing store

As you can see in the video, those who enter an Amazon Style store and want to buy clothes, will be able to see the different garments on display, either blouses, pants, dresses, jackets, etc., on the shelves and mannequins. Then, with the Amazon Shopping app, consumers will be able to scan a QR code on the garment they want, at the same time that they will be able to see samples of that garment in different sizes and colors and choose both the size and the color of their preference.

Once the garments have been chosen, customers must go through a “virtual queue” towards the fitting rooms. Of course, you can enter if the customer has their Amazon account open on their mobile. Upon entering the dressing room, the customer already will have your chosen clothes ready waiting to be tried on. It can even be continue shopping even without leaving the fitting roomthrough a touch screen with which you can select another garment and request it from the store employees, who will send it to the customer in a matter of minutes.

«Amazon Style is built on customization. Our machine learning algorithms produce personalized recommendations in real time for each customer while shopping“, Said the company through a press release.

«As customers browse the store and scan the items that catch their eye, we will recommend selections just for them. To provide an even more personalized experience, customers can share information such as their style, fit and other preferences so they can receive more refined recommendations. Even shopping offers are personalized and convenient—meaning customers can easily see in-store offers that match their preferences right in the Amazon Shopping app.«.

Amazon Style testers are known to the company as “magic closets with an endless selection” of clothes, with screens where you can see more clothes based on personalized recommendations made by Amazon’s own algorithms, which put together those ideas by evaluating the purchase history of customers. These recommendations will be available immediately if the client so requests.

Of course, this is not the first time that Amazon has flirted with “real” commerce beyond the virtual world. For several years now, it has implemented the concept of shopping in stores without employees, in which customers can enter, choose the products they want and leave the store without paying. Subsequently, the Amazon system detects the customer’s account on the platform from their mobile and registers the chosen products, automatically adding them to a virtual basket that is then charged when leaving the store. Amazon already has several of these stores, named in different locations in the United States.
