Supply problems, changes in the vaccination age and side effects of AstraZeneca’s vaccine against Covid-19 have compared Pfizer or Moderna. Thus, in recent days hundreds of people, mostly in Madrid, have a right, since vaccination is not mandatory, but at the moment they do not have a plan B.

The vaccination strategy organized by the Government of Spain is blunt about the possibility of choosing a vaccine. Thus, in explains that it is not possible: “The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 is conditioned by the serious epidemiological situation that we are experiencing. For this reason, and in order to reinforce the protection of the most vulnerable as soon as possible, the election of the vaccine to be applied cannot be an individual choice but must be based on the efficacy and the indication of the vaccines for the different population groups”.

The Spanish vaccination strategy does not contemplate what will happen to people who decide not to get vaccinated. Specifically, the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, when asked about the possibility that someone refused to be vaccinated with a certain brand and chose to do so with another, has limited herself to saying: “It is not contemplated in the Vaccination Strategy. If it is not vaccinated, for now it would not be vaccinated.”
