Course leave WordPress themes as in demo #1. Academy Pro – .com

We begin the new Genesis Framework Child Themes fine-tuning course with a StudioPress theme ideal for setting up any type of school or online academy: Academy Pro.

The theme itself does not bring CPTs (custom post types) prepared for courses and classes. Rather, it focuses on a clean, to-the-point aesthetic so that any plugin you install to create an online academy works well.

It comes with WooCommerce integration, so Sensei will work great on it. And you already know why this LMS does create its own types of content for courses, classes, exams, and certificates.

But Academy Pro could also be used to make an academy of online courses in the form of a membership site. Yes, this theme goes great with the plugins from or with , with which you can easily create membershipsites.

In the first video we will see how to install everything and in what order: plugins, parent theme, child theme, demo content… Do not skip any steps if you want to leave it as it is in the demo. But of course, there are always plugins that you may not want to use. In that case, skip only the steps that affect those.

In the second video we begin customizing the Academy Pro theme by pulling Customizer. This tool improves with each version of WordPress and is already beginning to take on much more prominence. In my case, I use it more than the administration pages themselves because Genesis takes advantage of it very well.

We will see that almost the entire home page is built on the basis of pure html Widgets. And that its widget areas are built with Flexible Layouts, which rearrange the widgets in more or less columns depending on how many you put. I love this because it allows us a practically unlimited level of customization in the home.

In the third video we will finish off the job polishing details and seeing all the theme’s features and how to use them. There’s a lot of html and CSS here. Also from basic Genesis configurations. In short, it is all very basic and lean. Perfect to keep our websites light and with a universal language.

I hope you liked this theme and you know, if you have any questions you can contact me on the support form and I will be happy to assist you.

We also recommend the and the , as well as the first of , to get the most out of it. See you next class!
