166,000 is the price reached by a bottle of Château Lafite Rothschild from the 1787 vintage at auction at the prestigious Christie’s. Coming from France, this wine needs no introduction, it is already one of the world benchmarks for Bordeaux wines.

The second place in this ranking is occupied by one of the most famous Spanish wines in the world, Vega Sicilia. They have come to pay 50,000 euros for a bottle of this classic Denomination of Origin Ribera de Duero from the year 1990.

Ukrainian wines are not so well known, but despite that Massandra has managed to place itself in third position on this list with a bottle from the year 1775. This wine is of Russian origin and comes from hundred-year-old vineyards in the Yalta region, in Crimea. At auction, the price of one of its bottles reached 43,500 euros.

In fourth position is a 1951 Penfolds Grange Hermitage, which after reaching a price of 30,000 euros at auction has become the most expensive Australian wine.

For many, Petrus is the name of the best wine in the world. Some vintages of this wine from the Pomerol region, near Bordeaux, can reach 15,000 euros, like the 1990 one.

In the Burgundy region we find Romanée-Conti, a white wine whose price per bottle can reach 7,000 euros.

In the Napa Valley, the Screaming Eagle is born, a red wine whose bottle can reach 4,500 euros.

For 1,750 euros we can buy another great Bordeaux wine, specifically a bottle of Château Margaux.

Closing this list appears another of the best wines in our country. Pingus, also from the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin, has become the most expensive Spanish wine with a price of 1,000 euros per bottle in its 2004 vintage.
