The steps are simple, we will have to make some adjustments in Facebook and others in WordPress. In the Facebook part, we are going to obtain the application ID and associate the web domain where we are going to implement the social login, in addition to making some other adjustments. For its part in WordPress we will install and configure the plugin to connect using Facebook and we will relate it to this application. You will see that it is quite easy to do, let’s start!

Get the application identifier

The first thing we will have to do is obtain the identifier of our Facebook application to be able to associate it later in the plugin that we will install in WordPress.

• Display name: The name of the application that will be displayed among other sites in the “My applications” menu.
• Namespace: The real name if you want to use it.
• Application domains: Domain or domains in which this application will be used, either to connect or for what we need.
• Contact E-Mail: An email in which we can receive relevant information about the application.
• Privacy Policy URL: The full URL of our Privacy Policy page.
• Terms of Service URL: Full URL of the Terms of Service page if needed.
• App icon: Application icon in 1024x1024px format.
• Category: The category in which this app can be included.
• Commercial use: Here we will have to select the reason why the application uses Facebook data or tools.

When entering this option we will find that some fields are already filled in. We will only have to fill in the domain/domains of the application, the URL to the privacy policy and the contact email, the rest is optional.
