Five ‘vintage’ motorcycles to move with style

Jumping on the retro trend bandwagon is easy with any of these five bikes, each oozing style in their own way.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 535

Royal Enfield is taking things seriously in Spain. After opening the first store that sells motorcycles and equipment in our geography, located in Madrid, they have expressed their intention to become the kings of the medium displacement (from 250 to 750 cc). One of the models they sell is the Bullet, a motorcycle that holds the record for uninterrupted production since it first hit the market in the 1940s. But the one we are dealing with today is called the Continental GT 535 and we believe it is more in line with the current market trend for its cafe racer style. Without a doubt, it is a striking motorcycle, which hides inside a single-cylinder 535 cc and 29.1 CV engine, which barely gives fair performance, although it is sufficient to ride at a calm pace. You can’t expect superlative quality from this Royal Enfield, but you can expect a healthy dose of design and budget. From this list, it is the cheapest of all.

Moto Guzzi V7 II

In 1964, an already iconic model for Moto Guzzi was launched on the market, the V7, which shares certain aesthetic features with its modern sequel, but has little to do with it beyond this. Under the name V7 II, this motorcycle represents the access to the range of the Italian brand and becomes a good alternative for anyone who wants to take their first steps in the world of two wheels. Fundamentally, because its 750 cc V-twin engine only produces 48 hp, a very affordable power for the most inexperienced. That yes, the connoisseurs probably demand greater thrust capacity and, for that matter, a little less vibrations. What is undeniable is that this bike looks great and, furthermore, it is comfortable at the controls. A model to enjoy without complications.

Triumph Bonnevile

A fireproof motorcycle. If you ask any biker with a taste for the classic, it will surely be one of the first models that come to mind. His story starts in the 50s, when he quickly became an icon, even in the hands of famous Hollywood actors who knew how to give him projection. From then until today, it has barely been kept off the assembly lines for just over a decade. That yes, the model that is now sold is very modernized and according to the demands of today. The Triumph Bonnevile is a beautiful, retro and practical motorcycle. Perhaps the latter is the most surprising, because such a ‘vintage’ style is usually accompanied by unrefined manners. But no, the ‘Bonnie’ moves smoothly, thanks to a 865 cc twin-cylinder engine that delivers 68 hp, and a more than correct cycle part. Available in several series, with differentiated aesthetics, the British one will always occupy a prominent place among the renowned classics.

Ducati Scrambler

Interestingly, its name is Scrambler Ducati and not the other way around, which gives a clear idea of the brand’s intention to enhance the individuality of this model. Available with four different finishes, Icon, Urban Enduro, Classic, Full Throttle, this Scrambler is something like a ‘remake’ of the Ducati that bore the same name back in the 60s and 70s. But it barely rescues its essence, since the current model is modern, whichever way you look at it. Its chassis, its 803 cc and 75 hp desmodromic engine, its ABS and its anti-rebound system that prevents blockages in the rear wheel when reducing, are some of the elements that make it clear that this bike is made to battle in the current era.

BMW R NineT

The most premium on this list is surely the most pleasant to drive. At least that’s how it seems to us. Cafe racer-inspired, this generously sized but very manageable naked exudes BMW character from every pore: from the air-cooled boxer engine (1,170 cc and 110 hp), to the cardan transmission, passing through its unmistakable design, the R Nine T is a motorcycle that does not have a exactly cheap price, but it is capable of providing unmeasured enjoyment to those who are looking for a well-made, high-performance retro motorcycle with good manners on the asphalt. Quality and good workmanship (with some exceptions in the cycle part) for this highly desirable BMW for any lover of good taste.
