Get to know the price extensions in Google Adwords

One of the most recent extensions that Google Adwors offers us are the price extensions. These are added to the list of that you already offer. Ad extensions are additional information that can be added to your ads. These can be in certain formats for example your company phone, address, highlighted text, site links. With the new format price extensions, advertisers are allowed to add information about a product or service directly from the ad.

This extension is only available on mobiles and tablets. It is presented in a column format, where the left column corresponds to the product or service, the central one its description and the right one its corresponding price. Also you should know that Only the ad that is in position number 1 of results will be able to present the price extensions. In the image below you can see an example of how the ad looks with this extension on a mobile device:

To get started with price extensions, just follow these simple steps:

1) Go to the campaign where you want to apply it.

2) Point to the ad extensions tab.

3) Once you are in this menu, you will see a dropdown with all the types of extensions. Click on price extensions:

4) Once you have reached the price extensions menu, click on + Extension and add price extension.

5) You will arrive at the following menu, in this you can manually create the price extensions to add them to your campaigns:

Guy: It is the type of product or service you offer. This list is currently only available in English and are as follows:

Currency: Type of currency in which the price is indicated:

-USD (United States Dollar)

-MXN (Australian Dollar)

-CAD (Canadian Dollar)

-NZD (New Zealand Dollar)

Price qualifier: It is an addition to your ads that serves to indicate if the prices are to or from.

Header; corresponds to the product or service (up to 25 characters).

Description: corresponds to a description or details of that product or service (up to 25 characters).

Price: It is the final price of the product. Make sure you put the coin correctly.

Unit: Allows you to add optional information if the indicated price is per day, hour, week, month, etc… this applies more to services than to products.

End URL: Destination URL of the user who clicks on that product or service.

You can add up to 8 products or services per campaign.

One of the main advantages of using extensions is the increase in CTR, according to Multiplies by 4 the CTR of the ads that use the price extension. As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, this extension will only appear if your ad appears in the first position of results. In any case, it is a very interesting option since it allows the user to know the price of your product or service before clicking on it. This, apart from improving the CTR, will generate higher quality clicks since the user who visits your page knows in advance the price for your product or service.
