Goodbye Musical.ly, Hello Tik Tok: the short video app for teenagers integrates into TikTok and causes the fury of musers

Two of the world’s fastest growing short-form video apps, musical.ly and , have come together to create a new global app. The platform product of the merger, and which is called just tiktok, creates, according to company spokesmen “a unified user experience, introduces a new logo and user interface, and offers greater capabilities for video creation. By bringing together the best of TikTok and musical.ly, TikTok becomes the world’s number one destination for the creation and consumption of short-form video content.”

TikTok, with more than 500 million users worldwide, had purchased Musical.ly in November 2017 for billion Dollars, but it has not been until now when it has decided to carry out the integration of both.

What will happen to accounts and videos on Musical.ly

As the company hastened to explain, existing creator accounts, content, and follower base will be automatically moved to the new TikTok app, where creators will keep all their pre-existing content. How TikTok works

TikTok incorporates the most popular elements of both apps with a feed that highlights the community of users, as well as a “For You” feed that offers personalized video recommendations based on viewing preferences. The app will also feature new features in the coming weekswhich will include:

  • A “react” feature that allows the user to react to their friends’ videos directly from the phone

TikTok is now available for new users through the App Store or Google Play. Existing musical.ly users will be automatically upgraded to TikTok when they update their current app.

Musers don’t like TikTok
