Google prepares Shops: a new section in search results for mobile devices – Marketing 4 Ecommerce – Your online marketing magazine for e-commerce

Following this line of development, the Mountain View company has launched a new section in its mobile search results called: shops.

What is Shops?

Shops is a new section that appears within Google search results, it shows different results from marketplaces and online stores, together and separately from the other results. They are found in a box under the title of Shops, or Stores in Spanish. This new section was first discovered by the Indian analyst Khushal Bherwani, who made it known through his Twitter profile.

Similarly, after this notice from Bherwani, the Search Engine web portal received confirmation of the company’s new addition from a Google spokesperson.

“Recently, we launched Shops, a new module available on mobile devices for certain shopping-related queries in English. We launched it to help present more seller options to users in search. This feature currently displays 3 stores and users can expand it to view up to 10 vendors based on availability. The selection of displayed results and their order are based on the organic search ranking.

As they explain, this new section will show a minimum of three store results, which users can expand up to 10 by clicking on a search option. “more shops”. On the other hand, its availability is currently limited to certain consultations within the United States.
